ALIENA
Team, Project & Vision in 5 weeks.
The project began with a comprehensive audit to assess the current situation and identify key challenges. We then swiftly adopted a 'sell first, build in parallel' strategy, allowing us to secure both funding and clients simultaneously

Pitch Decks
FOCUS.
P1. Content, P2. Story, P3. Graphics
So the first stage of the work involved redesigning the pitch deck. The goal was to be minimal. We needed to do it quickly as had only 3 days until their pitch.
Key focuses were first content, then story, then design. You can see this in the many iterations made of intro page.
There were 3 decks to work on. One with 15 slides (short), one with 43 slides (long). A final of about 12, with a strict focus on only the financials and the usage of series A funds (was used to finalise negotiations and present case in final stages of raising series A of $10m).

V1, V1.1, V1.2…
See the types (including how I started to redesign)

P1-CONTENT.
Wording, Typography, Colours
Wording
About design, one particular thing I did was to make it easier to distinguish between points by setting a typography style and colours that matched their use of asset colours and branding. This was dark blue, light blue and light bold blue.

Colours
Of course, also added white, black, green and red for pointers and what is to stand out

Later on of course also added a secondary colour and gradients.

Added a third colour, for the challenges of the sector, although these can be used in red down the line, but wanted to differentiate a bit between problems and challenges.

P2-STORY.
Sections. Format of presenting. Order
Sections
The major sections of the presentation were created to take into account industry particulars, the specific client base targeted, all whilst maintaining leading pitch decks layout.

Format of presenting.
Reading was created to be presented left to right, with enhanced focus on the presenter to bring the details to make sense of the graphics and how they come aligned.

There are multiple slides, the reason is that quantity does not matter. What matters is length to go through each slide and the industry. In particular, the space industry and clients are technical. They require more information on each slide. To optimise for engagement and level of detail, provided more details whitin each slide, whilst not overcrowding, thus finding the perfect balance.

Order
Simple as that, focused on problem first, solution and then market fit, finalised with why Aliena vs competition.

P3-Graphics.
Icons, Images, Backgrounds Usage
This came together with enhancing the story through use of iconography and spacial design, layout control and focusing the reader to read the most important parts of the text with backgrounds.

NEXT.
V2: Clients, Public Speaking, Investor Updates. Series B
Of course that the design is never finished. Here I put the to-do's for V2 of this improvement, specifically targeted for series B when time comes, and primarily for future presentation to investors (updates), client meetings and public speaking events.
Specifically a bigger focus on PDF to easily send, website pages (portfolio) and for PPT into animations and simplicity that captivates, leveraging the new training of the CEO and CTO on storytelling and presenting.

THE DESIGN PROCESS
How?
Done in stages.
First
Layering down the OLD website into each specific section,

Second.
Analysing the product page.

Third.
Definition of goals:
Remove 2 page layout that is confusing and often missed when on the website.
Improve presentation of products (assets)
Add in detail with interactivity

Fourth
Inspiration: Midjourney, website, awwards, behance, own vision.

Third
Problem solution matching. Realising which parts of which designs across the web can come together. The goal was to find parts that can be modulised into one coherent design, whilst maximising the solvability of each for the problem targeted. Partly following a concept had before, and partly adapting to inspiration found.

Fifth
Comparison of inspiration, notes and pulling it all in.
Sixth
Assets creation for MVP: colours, font
Seventh
Mid-high fidelity prototying and experimetnation, utilising the speed in imagination I have and of working in Figma/Framer.
ninth
A new landing page concept, with even more simplicity, having the products at its core, using own assets vs web or midjourney (space trust, delivering on promise of design-led impact by the technical products. With complex products, the website needs to be that much simpler and to the point whilst maximising interactivity and understading whilst impressing the audience. This literally translates to making it damn easy to understand each technical concept and detail in the easiset and most enjoyable way for both technical and non-technical audiences, which helped SpaceX itself boost their audience, interest and coverage (in addition to their out of this world feats). Just look at their live mission displays on youtube, so interactive, so animated, so cool to enjoy and wait with nail-biting moments as images, as videos and as interactions tell and unfold the story of the launch and retrieval of reockets.
